North Quay which has recently been completed provides a select development of 20 luxury apartments and 2 craft units adjacent to existing grade 2 listed former corn store now bistro and furniture shop and overlooking the millpond and Norman castle within the Pembroke conservation area, including semi-basement parking, communal roof gardens and private south facing balconies. The scheme is now being used as an exemplar in the Pembrokeshire County Council housing design guide and is being marketed for sale having recently been completed. Castle Pill is a mixed use scheme providing a 310 berth marina, 250 apartments, a hotel and 6 marine related retail units plus extensive parking, landscaping, boat laying up areas and chandlery and is to be accessed off a former MOD road complete with a provision of an impounded water facility, improved swing bridge, a lock and refurbishment of a former industrial pier to provided leisure related uses and access to the complex by all types of waterborne craft. The site will use sustainable principles for design and will need extensive land reclamation measures in order to overcome previous uses including armaments, ship breaking and ship building. A detailed planning application is being worked up for this, and proposals for an initial phase for 72 dwellings, retail units, chandlery and restaurant on a section of the site overlooking the Milford Haven waterway and the Castle Pill inlet has been submitted for full planning permission.
