NEW POLICE CALL CENTRE, LLANGUNNOR AND NEW POLICE STATION, AMMANFORD, CARMARTHENSHIRE

New call centre for joint emergency services at the Force HQ, in Llangunnor near Carmarthen plus a purpose built PFI funded Police Station for the Amman Valley in Ammanford.

CLIENT: Dyfed Powys Police/PFI preferred contractors to the Police Authority.
PROJECT VALUE: 3+M each.
SERVICES PROVIDED: On both projects we were lead consultants/architects to the contractor, on design/build projects and responsible for architectural design to the client for the concepts.

NEW FIRE STATION, GWAUN CAE GURWEN

New community fire station on an environmentally sensitive site in Gwaun Cae Gurwen in the shadow of the Brecon Beacons National Park. PDL were commissioned for this BREEAM 'Very Good' rated scheme, which incorporates a number of environmental measures to make it highly sustainable in this exposed rugged location, as part of the Fire Service's Safer Valleys initiative.

CLIENT: Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
PROJECT VALUE: 750k.
SERVICES PROVIDED: Full Architectural, Design Team, Cost and Project Management service, including CDM Coordinator and BREEAM Assessors, via sub-consultants.

EXTENSION AND REMODELLING OF PONTARDAWE FIRE STATION, SWANSEA VALLEY

Alterations and first floor extension comprising sleeping and living accommodation to cater for the fire fighters' changing duty patterns at Pontardawe Fire Station. The extension was built over the original building on an independent steel frame, utilising lightweight construction and rain screen cladding. The fire station was kept fully operational throughout construction.
